this coffee mug, along with a set of foam rubber coasters, ceramic
steins, and ceramic refrigerator magnets, were also known as the MAD
Magazine "Family Fun" collectibles line, as these were sold
by a dealer called "Family Fun Collectibles", in the "For

a very cool item from Don Martin. Produced in 1990 by the company,
Best In Town, this item is a light-weight t-shirt that features some
terrific artwork from the hand of MAD Magazine's MADdest artist, Don
Martin. This shirt shows some of Mr. Martin's post-MAD Magazine
work, and the art looks like it was done during his glory years at
MAD. This shirt has been worn, and been used quite a bit. There are
a few tiny holes on the front, and the back has a rather large hole
along the neckline hem (pictured). Despite the condition, this shirt
is quite rare, and would be a fine addition to your MAD Magazine or
Don Martin collection. Lot #4 - MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman "Weird Al" Yankovic T-Shirt 2015 MB $5 Produced
in 2015 by Represent, this item is a MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman

a super rare piece of MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in the
1970's, this item is a MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman butane
lighter. This particular item is one of a few that were given to the
staff of MAD by the creator, who hoped that MAD would license it for
sale. Unfortunately, MAD said "NO", with one of the
reasons being that the gentleman used the word "Who"
instead of "What" in the slogan on the front. The MAD
Logo, the face of Alfred E. Neuman, and the "Who Me Worry"
slogan have all been etched onto the front, and this item is in
beautiful display condition. From the collection of Bob Clarke. Lot #6 - MAD Magazine / Spy vs. Spy / MAD Racing Sealed Cloisonne Pin MB $5 Produced

by 1 3/4". In presumed Mint condition. Lot #7 - MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman Plastic Bookends (GOLD) MB $5 Produced
in the 1970's by E.C. Publications, this is a pair of MAD Magazine /

into shrink-wrapped sets of MAD Magazine paperback books. The MAD
paperback books included in these sets were often chosen randomly,
and a paper bookmark was also included with the books and bookends.
This set is the gold/blue version. A red/gold version was also
produced. This set shows some usage wear, and there is some sticker
residue on the back of one of the bookends. Lot #8 - MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman Ceramic Bisque Bust Small Version 1960 MB $25 Produced

Occasionally, people would paint the top of the bust, to make it more
appealing. This particular bust features a top that has been dipped
in gold paint. This bust is in Excellent display condition, and
still has the green maufacturer's sticker on the felt bottom. From
the collection of Jerry DeFuccio. Lot #9 - MAD Magazine / Spy vs. Spy T-Shirt 1997 Scene Not Herd MB $5 Produced

in 1993 by Lime Rock International, this is the complete set of MAD

Cards is difficult to find, as distribution nationwide was not very
good. This particular set is limited to 5000 editions, and this set
is numbered #708. After the 5000 sets were produced, a few extra
sets were produced, and placed in a special white box. These cards

a cool piece of Alfred E. Neuman memorabilia. Published in the
1920's, this item is a photo of an early, pre-MAD image of MAD
Magazine's cover boy, Alfred E. Neuman. It is unknown from which
newspaper this image is from, and the publication date is also
uncertain. But, this clipping has been glued to a piece of paper
with pencil markings on it indicating that it was from 1928. So, I'm
leaving it at that. This item measures approx. 4 1/2" by 5
1/2", and is in Excellent display condition. Lot #12 - Alfred E. Neuman Handpuppet Unlicensed 1960 Crestline Enterprises MB $50 Here's
a super rare piece of Alfred E. Neuman memorabilia. Produced in 1960
by Crestline Enterprises, this is an Alfred E. Neuman handpuppet.
The face on this puppet appears to be hand-painted, and shows a
terrific likeness. The cloth body does not appear to be original, as
most of the Alfred E. Neuman handpuppets that I have seen have a blue
& white checkered design on the cloth body. In any event, MAD
Magazine collectors are most interested in the face and head, which
in this instance, does not disappoint. The words, "What Me
Worry", can be found underneath the cloth body, underneath the
chin, while the words, "Crestline Enterprises", can be
found at the base on the back of the head. Measuring approx. 10 1/2"
from the top of the head to the bottom of the cloth body, this super

cars, and one (1) Alfred E. Neuman car. It is unknown how the
distribution breaks down for each box, but it is assumed that all
five different styles of cars are included in the box. The cars
shown in the second photo are just a representation of what is
included in the box. They are not included in this auction. This
sealed box is in Excellent display condition, and it is assumed that
it's contents are in Mint condition. Lot #14 - MAD Magazine / Up The Academy Cassette Tape MB $5 This

2010 through January 30, 2011. This exhibit featured original art

which were sold at Spencer Gifts novelty stores in the late 1990's.
Each of these signs measure approx. 12" by 12", and each is
in Excellent display condition. The front of the Alfred E. Neuman
face does show some some paper loss, however, probably due to some
tape or a sticker being torn off. These signs were originally
assembled as a hanging mobile, but the string is not included. This
set is rare, as most sets were thrown away after most of the MAD
Magazine product stock was sold. Lot #27 - Alfred E. Neuman Wooden Wall Clock 1990's MB $25 Here's
a super rare piece of MAD Magazine & Alfred E. Neuman
memorabilia. Produced in the 1990's by Bob Draeger, this item is a
wooden Alfred E. Neuman wall clock. Mr. Draeger was a retired
woodworker/artist whom I met in 1995. I commissioned him to create
an Alfred E. Neuman wall clock, after seeing his collection of
home-made wall clocks at a Milwaukee area flea market. I gave him my
Alfred E. Neuman statue that I had purchased at the Warner Brothers
Studio Store, and he went to work. About three weeks later, this is
what he created. This item was featured in an issue of the MAD Panic
fanzine, and several others of these were made and sold. This is the
last one he ever made. I purchased it two years ago, before has
passed away. It measures 13" from fingertip to fingertip, and

that have been folded in half. The two panels on the bottom right
are the finished product. These cover panels have been glued onto an
artist sheet measuring approx. 16" by 20", and this
collection would look beautiful when framed. From the collection of

have never been played with. The deck comes with a nice engraved
wooden display box, and the original black storage box for the
engraved wooden box is also included. Lot #32 - MAD Magazine Logo / Alfred E. Neuman Marbles Set 1990's MB $10 Produced

in 1993 for E.C. Publications, this is a hand-painted ceramic statue
of MAD Magazine's cover boy, Alfred E. Neuman. This item was
produced exclusively for distribution at Warner Brothers Studio
Stores (WBSS) nationwide, and was probably the most popular MAD
Magazine retail item sold at those stores. In fact, this item was
re-released to the stores in 1995 and 1996, and was repackaged in a
full color display box as well. This hand-painted statue measures
approx. 14 1/2" tall (from the bottom of the base to the top of
Alfred's head) and 7 1/2" wide (from fingertip to fingertip).
This item is a first edition statue, as it is stamped "1993"
on the back of the base. There is some paint loss in a few areas on
the statue (cheek, chin, lips, back of right
shoulder...........probably due to handling and storage), and Alfred
is also missing his thumb and pinkie finger on his left hand.
Outside of the missing digits, there are no other chips, cracks, or
other markings. Lot #34 - Up The Academy Promotional Pinback Button MAD / Alfred E. Neuman MB $5 Produced
in 1980 by Warner Bros. Inc., this item is a promotional pinback
button from the 1980 box office flop, Up The Academy. Featuring

art), this pinback was a promotional item given away to movie

diameter, this item has been used, but is in terrific display
condition. The shiny back shows some relatively heavy wear, more so
than what the camera flash allows you to see. The front of the pin
is beautiful. Lot #35 - Set Of Two (2) Spy vs. Spy Refrigerator Magnets 2012 Mint MB $5 Produced
in 2012 by the International Spy Museum and E.C. Publications, this
lot contains a set of Spy vs. Spy refrigerator magnets. These

in 2014 by E.C. Publications, this item is a promotional magnet from
the "Return To Planet Tad" paperback book. The "Planet
Tad" series premiered in issue #458 of Mad Magazine in 2005, and
soon became a fan favorite. It details the life of a middle school
boy, who blogs about his daily life activities. It's kind of like,
"Diary Of A Wimpy Kid", but with a little more edge to it.
Anyway, this item was given away at the 2014 New York Comic Con
(NYCC), with almost no fanfare. Very few people collected one, and
most were thrown away after the con. This beauty was saved by an
anonymous member of the UGOI, and they have offered it for sale in
this auction. It measures approx. 1" by 3 1/2", and is
unused and in Near Mint condition, with ultra-light storage and

beauty of this book is that it has been signed in black Sharpie by
ten (10) members of the Usual Gang of Idiots on the front cover.
Those signatures include those by John Ficarra, Dave Croatto, Amy
Vozeolas, Ryan Flanders, Joe Raiola, Sam Viviano, Charlie Kadau, Jon
Bresman, Patty Dwyer, and one more that I can't identify. This book
is in Excellent display condition, and the signatures are clear as a

front cover of the new #1 issue. Both of these issues appear to be
unread, and are in Near Mint / Mint condition. Lot #42 - MAD Magazine 5-Pack Bundle "Bagged" Collection MB $10 Produced
in the mid 2010's by E.C. Publications, this is a collected set of
five (5) different MAD Magazines. The magazines assembled in this
collection were overstock issues that were returned to the
distributor. These issues were then bundled randomly into packs of
five, then resold as a set. The front and back showing issues are
the only issues you know for sure that you are getting. The three
other issues are a mystery, and you won't know what they are until
you open the package up. It is assumed that they are also from the
same time period (2014-2016), but you just can't be sure. The
magazines contained inside this package are in assumed Mint
condition, while the outer wrapper is complete. There is some
sticker residue on the back of the bundle, however. Lot #43 - British MAD Magazine #100 w/ Original "Thank You" Letter 1970 MB $20 Here's

the British version of MAD Magazine, and a "Thank You"
letter that was sent to all of their subscribers. The editors of the
British version of MAD sent each subscriber this letter, AND an
additional copy of issue #100. While the #100 issue itself might be
relatively easy to find, the subscriber "Thank You" letter
is incredibly difficult to find. The #100 issue is in VG/F
condition, with surface, corner and edge wear, and the full color
bonus postcards are complete and still attached to the inside of the
magazine. The letter shows some surface wear, and there is a small
crease at the lower left hand corner of the sheet. Lot #44 - TANG / MAD Magazine Sweepstakes Entry Form, Ad, Promo Issue MB $5 This

was only one Special Issue published, and that was for the winner

a cool piece of MAD Magazine memorabilia. Published in 2008 by the
Heritage Auction Galleries, this item is an auction catalog from the
November 8, 2014 live auction of MAD Magazine original art. Entitled,
"The MAD Magazine Original Art Treasures", this auction
catalog features original cover paintings from "The Soul Of
MAD". "The Soul Of MAD" were pieces of classic MAD
Magazine cover art that were selected as the most representative of
what MAD Magazine was all about. It was these covers that were saved
from the major MAD Magazine original art auctions at Christies and
Sotheby's auction houses in New York City in the 1990's. But, in
the early 2000's, it was decided that they were to be sold off. So,
they appeared in this auction, along with several other pieces of
iconic MAD Magazine artwork. At fourty-eight (48) pages in length,
this item appears to have been read just once or twice. It is in
Excellent display condition. Lor #96 - 1960 Alfred E. Neuman For President Pinback Button MB $10 Produced
in 1960 by E.C. Publications, this is an Alfred E. Neuman for

the 1960 Alfred E. Neuman for President campaign kit, which was only
sold through the Letters Pages of MAD Magazine. Besides the pinback
button, this kit also included a wall poster, a door sign, a bumper
sticker, and a campaign cap. Complete kits with the original
envelope are rarely seen, but they do exist. Out of all of the items
in the kit, the pinback button is probably the easiest item to find.
Measuring approx. 2 1/2" in diameter, this item is in decent
display condition, with wear on the front and back, and a tiny bit of
paint loss on the front of the button. Lot #97 - A Cheap, Crummy, Souvenir Of My Visit To MAD Poster 1970's MB $20 Here's

German version of MAD Magazine. This articles is filled with art
from the German MAD, artist and writer biographies, and a lengthy

the German language, but the pictures are certainly fun to look at.
This item has been looked just once or twice, and is in Excellent
display condition. Lot #99 - Swedish Alfred E. Neuman Hand-Painted Plaster Casting 1970's MB $20 Here's
a cool piece of foreign Alfred E. Neuman memorabilia. Produced in
the 1970's by Stiko Stockholm, this is an Alfred E. Neuman plaster
casting. The form for this casting was from the same
mold as the Swedish "pseudo-bronze" Alfred E. Neuman
plastic bust plaque, which was released in the early 1970's. This
particular item was made for Kell Stahl, the long time Editor of the
Swedish version of MAD Magazine, and it hung in his office for
several years. After the Swedish MAD shut down operations, all of
the memorabilia in the offices was collected and placed in storage.
During its time in storage, this item was damaged, and what you see
is what remains. It measures approx. 9" by 11", and still
displays nicely. A little touch up with some new paint might do
wonders. Lot #100 - Alfred E. Neuman Stretched Canvas Painting 2005 Nick Baal MB $20 Produced

the painting up close, the image looks blurred. But, the further you
are away from the art, the clearer the image becomes. In Excellent
display condition. END OF SESSION ONE Session Two - Saturday, October 27, 2018(Click to jump back to Session One) ALL OF THE ITEMS IN THIS SESSION ARE FROM THE COLLECTION OF MAD MAGAZINE SENIOR EDITOR EMERITUS, MR. CHARLIE KADAU (KAY-DOO) Hello! Welcome to my auction, “Ex-Crap From New York”! I suppose I could have also called it “Storage Bores,” or even “Chairman of the Hoard.” After 33 years at MAD, as we were shutting down the New York office (New York having been MAD’s home since 1952 – 65 years!) I realized my space had become more a storage unit than an office. So I decided to give Tim Johnson a call and have an auction! MAD was a pretty big thing in my adolescent and teen years, and my head still spins at the notion I got to work side-by-side with the greater-than-great MAD creators of that era: Jaffee, Jacobs, Aragones, Martin, Berg, Drucker, Clarke, Davis, DeBartolo, Prohias, Coker, Siegel, Torres, Woodbridge, Edwing, Porges, Hart, Silverstone, Schild, Kogen, Koch, and of course William M. Gaines, Al Feldstein, and Nick Meglin, among others. There are more greater-than-greats, but they died before I joined the staff…the nerve! Besides that, I got to work with all the massively talented “new kids” that came on board during my tenure, as well as the talented, funny and maddening people I shared office space and masthead space with over the years. To them all, I say “Salud!”, especially Joe Raiola, who I was writing with 10 years BEFORE joining MAD – without our collaboration, I don’t think either of us would be where we are today – unemployed! The chance to correspond, converse, meet and greet with hundreds of MAD’s “Fan-Addicts” over the years is also a cherished storehouse of memories I will always have – this auction is a chance to share some MAD material and memorabilia with those I’ve met and many more I haven’t! I also needed to free up some room in my home (remember, I don’t have an office anymore!) And rest assured – I kept some pretty great stuff for my own collection! Many items in this auction were given to me over the years by Bill Gaines, Annie Gaines Ashton, Nick Meglin, John Ficarra, Lenny Brenner, other staff members and contributors, or rescued just before they were put in the trashcan (often confused with MAD’s “In Box”)! To mark this furshlugginer occasion, all items won here will include a numbered certificate of authenticity (big deal!) featuring an Al Jaffee-drawn image and signed by me (again – big deal!) Super Special thanks to John Ficarra and a special dedication to my friend Nick Meglin, whom we lost much too soon – like a fine wine, he kept getting better with age. And many thanks to Tim Johnson, who graciously agreed to let me take over part of his excellent auction, and also curated what’s here! Lot #109 - MAD On Board Airline Edition Prototype Mock-Up RARE MB $50 THIS DESCRIPTION IS DIRECTLY FROM CHARLIE: Here is its story as best I can recall: either in conjunction with or suggested by DC’s ad exec at the time was the idea of producing a short magazine for kids that would be supplied to airlines and be available on flights if bored or anxious kids needed an activity. It would be paid for with ads and promote MAD the magazine (and maybe MAD Kids). This is the only copy in existence. The art staff was asked to put together a sample issue using already-existing MAD material chosen by the editors, including from MAD Kids, and repurpose it for this project. The only thing I think was “new” was the piece using isolated MAD art and erasing part of it so kids could “finish” it themselves. I don’t recall if it was ever actually pitched to airlines or advertisers; whether airlines or advertisers rejected the idea if it was, or whether the ad exec left the company before it could be pitched, or enthusiasm for it just faded. Either way, nothing came of it. This sample is literally held together with rubber cement, which used to be plentiful in MAD’s offices – explains a lot! My
description: In Excellent display condition. Some of the glued
pages are separating, however. Lot #110 - 1950's MAD Magazine Original Stationery Sheet 225 LaFayette St. RARE MB $30 Produced

in the 1990's by E.C. Publications, this item is a MAD Voting Sheet.
Here's what Charlie Kadau had to say about it....." The
MAD voting sheets go back to a time when scripts were submitted by
mail -- the editors didn't want their check or X mark (or scathing
comments and poorly rewritten gags) on the pages that were mailed
back to the writers, so a voting sheet provided both anonymity and an
easy reference in script conferences. This was one of the final
incarnations of the voting sheet, created right around the time we
realized that with email, they weren't really necessary anymore."
Measuring approx. 8 1/2" by 11", this sheet is in Near
Mint condition, with ultra-light handling and storage wear. Lot #139 - MAD's Original Idiots Sealed Boxed Set Wood, Elder, Davis 2015 MB $30 Published

"Some time after Bill’s passing, Annie brought a bunch of
rolls of Scottissue to the office from her and Bill’s
apartment. She offered one to everybody on the staff who wanted one,
telling us they were from Bill’s personal stash at home. I
don’t think there was a finer way to commemorate Bill's gift of
MAD to the world. I kept it in my office, displayed proudly, for the
next 25 years". This roll is 1000 sheets big, and is unused.
It is still wrapped in its original wax paper wrapper.
Lot #143 - MAD Magazine Valentine's Day Massacre Commemorative Coffee Mug MB $25 Produced
in 1994 by E.C. Publications, this item is a commemorative MAD
Magazine coffee mug. This mug was produced for the employees of DC
Comics who weren't invited to the 1993 MAD Christmas Party.
Apparently, the MAD people throw quite a bash, and there were some
people who were upset that they didn't receive an invitation to the
event. So, in place of a Christmas party, a special Valentine's Day
party was held instead. The date of the party on the mug is listed
as February 9, 1994, but due to inclement weather, the party was
cancelled and rescheduled at a later date. This mug is only one of
about 100 produced, and is quite rare. It appears to be unused, and
is in Near Mint condition, with light storage wear. Described with

Collectibly MAD. Lot #144 - Alfred E. Neuman Snow Globe Certified MAD Spencer Gifts 1999 MB $10 Produced

umbrella mishap, this item is still in Excellent display condition,
with light storage and handling wear. It measures approx. 5"
tall by 4" wide. Says Charlie, “I kept this snowglobe on
my desk in MAD’s offices for years – I think in many ways
the broken umbrella makes it MORE of a MAD gag, As Alfred now grins
obliviously while being snowed upon.” Lot #145 - MAD Magazine Stationery Set Unused NEAR MINT 1990's RARE MB $10 Produced

in 1992 by Globe Communications, this is issue #271 of Cracked
Magazine. This issue is of interest to MAD Magazine memorabilia
collectors for a few reasons: 1) Former MAD artist, Don Martin,
appears on the front cover. 2) There is a signed Cracked business
card, stapled to the front cover. Former MAD Magazine associate
editor, Jerry DeFuccio, was the editor of Cracked, and he signed his
business card and stapled it to the front cover. He wrote the
pictured message on the back of his business card. The front is
unmarked. 3) This issue was sent to Bill Gaines from Jerry
DeFuccio, probably in an attempt to accentuate the fact that MAD
Magazine artist, Jack Rickard, hardly appears in the book, Completely
MAD. Kind of like a "F....ck YOU, Bill!" This issue is
in Fair/Good condition, just because of a large cover split at the
top of the spine, running down to almost the bottom staple. Lot #153 - Set Of Don Martin Personal Address Labels 1980's RARE MB $35 Here's
a super rare piece of MAD Magazine memorabilia. Probably produced in
the 1980's (or 1970's), this is a partial box of self-stick mailing
address labels for MAD Magazine's MADdest artist, Mr. Don Martin.
MAD had these labels printed up for Mr. Martin. The MAD offices would affix them to any envelope or package MAD would send to
Don. There are three (3) labels to a sheet, and there are at least
20 or more sheets included in the box. Each sheet of labels measures
approx. 1 7/8" by 2 3/8", and they are all in terrific
display condition. Says Charlie, "These labels were MAD’s
way of “modernizing” and “streamlining”
communication with writers and artists before email, fax machines –
even FedEx! Each major contributor had a box of self-adhesive
address labels kept in MAD’s offices and made to be used when
corresponding. This is the box for Don Martin – which I’m
pretty sure is the only one left in existence!" Lot #154 - MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman Hand-Held Stamper 1700 Broadway MB $25 Here's
a one-of-a-kind item from the MAD Magazine offices. Produced in the
2000's, this is an automatic stamp pad from the MAD Magazine offices
at 1700 Broadway in New York City. If an item was mailed without a
mailing label (see Lot #101), this item was used instead. A stamp
similar to this one can be seen on the mailing envelope of the "Soul
Of MAD" art prints, but the address on those envelopes are from
the 1325 Avenue Of The Amercias office. This stamp pad is in
Excellent display condition, and still works perfectly. Lot #155 - MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman T-Shirt "You Will Buy This Shirt" 1980's MB $20 Produced
in the 1980's, this is a MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman t-shirt.
This t-shirt features the cover to MAD #99 on the front, but the
word, "magazine" that appears on the cover of the magazine,
and been changed to the word "shirt". This t-shirt is an
Adult size Large, and is in decent display condition. This shirt has
been worn and used, and there are pit stains on each side of the
shirt. There is also some "ring around the collar" at the
neckline, and there are some smaller stains on other areas of the
shirt. I have not seen this design before, so it might be a salesman
sample that was taken home by a MAD employee. Says Charlie, " I
want to make it clear these are not my pit stains! I never wore the
shirt and didn’t know they were there. So if you want my
valuable DNA, you’ll have to get it through other means
(Yecch!)" Lot #156 - MAD Magazine / Mort Drucker 1997 "MAD About Families" Print MB $150 Here's
something cool from the MAD Magazine offices. Produced in 1996 by
MAD Magazine artist, Mort Drucker, this item is a print of an
original piece of art that features famous people that were involved
in high-profile court cases in the 1990's. This particular art was
used on the cover of MAD Super Special #121 (June 1997), and
features spot-on caricatures of O.J. Simpson, Amy Fisher, Woody
Allen, the Menendez Brothers, Marge Schott, Leona Helmsley, Michael
Jackson, Dr. Jack Kevorkian, and Tonya Harding. Alfred E. Neuman
also makes an appearance. This piece of art is big, and measures
approx. 24" by 27 1/8". It has been mounted on stiff
Foamcore, and there are Velcro strips attached to the back,
indicating that it was hung on the walls of the MAD Magazine offices
at some point. Each corner has a ding to it, and there are also some
smaller dings along the edges. All in all, this item is beautiful,
and would look great in a frame on your wall. Lot #157 - MAD Magazine / Charlie Kadau Personalized Note Pad 2000's MB $50 Produced
in the 2000's by E.C. Publications, this item is a personalized note
pad from the desk of former MAD Magazine Senior Editor, Mr. Charlie
Kadau. This note pad features the MAD Magazine logo at the top of
each sheet, and Mr. Kadau's contact information is at the lower left
hand corner of each sheet. Alfred E. Neuman appears at the lower
right hand corner of each sheet. I've not counted exactly how many
sheets there are to this note pad, but I think 100 sheets would be a
decent guesstimate. This pad measures approx. 5 3/8" by 8 1/2"
by 1/2" thick, and is in Excellent display condition. The top
sheet is partially loose, and may become detached by the time you
receive it. I will be EXTRA careful! Lot #158 - MAD Magazine Comedy Writer's "Recruiting" Packet 2000's MB $50 Produced
in the 2000's by E.C. Publications, this lot contains a packet of
information that was sent to prospective comedy writers that
expressed an interest in working for MAD. The cover ketter is just
an informational letter, mainly about the topics that MAD generally
writes about, the writers pay per page, and other general information
about MAD Magazine. The remaining pages of the packet are
photocopies of past articles, which give examples of the vein of
humor MAD Magzine is trying to convey. This whole packet has been
held together by a single paper clip, so each page will have the
paperclip mark at the top left hand corner. In Excellent display
condition. Lot #159 - MAD Magazine 2002 Page-A-Day Calendar Factory Sealed MB $5 Produced

the book, and these sheets tell you exactly what is on each page.
There are four (4) sheets total, and each one is in Excellent display

Charlie, "the pages that were new material or required
production are highlighted in yellow." Lot #161 - E.C. Publications Stationery Set Unused NEAR MINT 1970's RARE MB $10 Produced

a cool collection of MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in 1997 for
E.C. Publications, this is a folder containing materials that
promoted the re-launch of the "new" MAD. The re-launch of
the "New" MAD Magazine took place on April 1, 1997, and
featured a new logo on the cover, a few different artists and
writers, new character features (like Melvin & Jenkins), and just
a general new format. Included in this press kit are copies of past
MAD Magazine covers, a color copy of the first "new" cover,
biographies of the MAD editorial team, and biographies on the DC
Comics executive editorial team. The sheets in this folder have been
looked at and used, and there may be some corner bends on a few of
them. The black folder shows handling and storage wear, but the MAD
/ Alfred E. Neuman sticker on the front is a nice addition. Lot #163 - MAD Magazine Christmas Subscription Gift Announcement Postcard 1985 MB $5 Produced

original front cover sketch for MAD Magazine Super Special #102.
This sketch features Alfred E. Neuman in a middle stall in the Men's
bathroom, hanging upside down behind the door. While the resemblance
to Alfred E. Neuman in the sketch is not spot-on, the idea is clever,
and MAD Magazine ran with it. The MAD Super Special #102 is also
included in this lot, and it is in Fine condition. The bonus
stickers are still included and attached. Lot #168 - MAD Magazine / Richard Williams 2007 MAD #484 Cover Print MB $150 Here's

in 2000, this item is a copy of an original color photograph from one
of the famous MAD Trips abroad. This photograph features MAD
Magazine artists, Jack Davis and Paul Coker Jr., sitting on their
motor scooters. I am not sure from which of the MAD trips this was
taken, but looking at the clothing worn by the ladies in the
background (and the youthfulness of Mr. Davis and Mr. Coker), I would
say the photo is from the late 1960's. This photo was published in
MAD XL #7 (January 2001), and is in Excellent display condition. It
measures approx. 5 3/4" by 9". Lot #173 - MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman "Gold" Cufflinks 1994 MB $50 Produced

The Alfred E. Neuman facial design on these cufflinks is identical to
the 1994 Alfred E. Neuman cloisonne pin that was given away to

instead of a pin backing, the cufflink backing was attached instead.
And, the colored enamel was not added. This pair of cufflinks is
incredibly rare, as they were only given to the MAD staff. These

the Alfred Moonman statue, with cover copy “tattooed” on
his arm. The final cover included Eminem as one of several
personalities reacting to the statue. In cover meetings, you had a
bunch of writers trying to push ideas they sketched themselves on the
spot – once displayed, it was only after the derisive insults
and laughter over the editor’s poor drawing ability subsided
that the idea would be discussed on its merits. That’s why
having actual artists around like Nick and Sam made things easier." Lot #185 - 2010 MAD Magazine Monthly Wall Calendar Factory Sealed MB $20 Produced

in 1997 by E.C. Publications, this is a set of two (2) full color
magazine sales tracking sheets. These sheets were made to track the
amounts of issues that were printed vs. the amount of those same

to the data provided on these sheets, the normal return rate was
between 24-30%, so between 240,000 and 300,000 issues. For the MAD
Super Special issues, the average print run was 800,000, with an
average return rate of between 16-19%. These sheets each measure
approx. 11" by 17", and are very displayable. It appears
