SESSION ONE - FRIDAY, MAY 12, 2017 Lot #1 - Denmark / Danish MAD Magazine #1 - First, Premiere, Issue - 1962 MB $100 This is a very
cool (and very rare) foreign MAD Magazine first issue. Published in
1962 by Forlaget I.K. / Williams Forlag, this is the first, premiere,
#1 issue from the Danish version of MAD Magazine. What makes this
issue extra special is that the title is spelled "G-A-S",
instead of "M-A-D". That is because the word "GAS"
is the literal translation of the word "MAD" in the Danish
language. In fact, the first thirteen (13) issues of the Danish MAD
had the word "GAS" printed on the front cover, as the title
was slowly converted to read "MAD" instead. This issue is
in VG/F condition, with light surface, corner and edge wear. Lot #2 - Sealed MAD Magazine Staff Logo Pin (1991) - Gold/Blue Version MB $20 This is a super
rare MAD Magazine cloisonne pin. Produced in 1991 for E.C.
Publications, this pin was originally planned to be a subscription
premium giveaway. But, a different color MAD logo pin (red/white)
was chosen instead. These blue/gold pins were still produced, but
only in a small batch. They were then given away to MAD staffers and
contributors. This pin is still sealed in its original bag, and is
unused and in Mint condition. Lot #3 - What, Me IBooks Promotional T-Shirt MB $20 This is a cool
promotional item from MAD Magazine. Produced in 2002 for E.C.
Publications by Simon & Schuster and ibooks, this item is a
t-shirt featuring the covers of the first six (6) "50th
Anniversary Edition" MAD paperback books. These books were
exact reprints of the five (5) MAD paperback books published in the
late 1950's by Ballantine Books, and the first MAD title published by
Signet Books. This shirt is an Adult size extra-large (XL), and is
unused and in Mint condition. Lot #4 - MAD About The Sixties Promotional Post-It Note Cube (Sealed) MB $50 This item is a
promotional item from the MAD About The Sixties trade paperback book.
Produced in 1995 by Little, Brown, and Co., this item is a sealed
cube of Post-It notes that feature Alfred E. Neuman and the MAD About
The Sixties logo on each side. These were never sold to the general
public, and were only given away to members of the MAD staff, and
other employees at Little, Brown. Measuring approx. 3 1/4" by
3 1/4" by 3 1/4", this item is still factory sealed, and in
Mint condition. Lot #5 - Alfred E. Neuman "Fuzzy-Hair" Bust w/ Original Tag & Storage Box MB $40 This is an early
1960's bust featuring a likeness of MAD Magazine's Alfred E. Neuman.
This bust features an Alfred lookalike with orange fuzzy hair, and
comes with the original hangtag which reads, "Don't Be Sad,
Don't Be Blue, 'Cause I'm The Guy Who'll Worry For You." Also
included in this lot is the original storage box for the bust. The
bust and box are both in Excellent display condition, although the
box does have one corner split on the lid, and also a tiny hole
(punched from the inside) on one side of the box. The bust measures
approx. 4 1/2" tall. Lot #6 - MAD Magazine Personalized Pen w/ Original Box - Ed Norris MB $40 This is a very
cool (and very rare) office premium from MAD Magazine. Produced in
1992 for E.C. Publications, this item is a personalized pen that was
given away as a gift for Christmas in 1992. The particular
recipient of this pen was MAD Magazine memorabilia collector, Ed
Norris, and Mr. Norris' name has been engraved on one side, along
with the words, "What, Me Worry". The end of the pen also
features a full color image of MAD Magazine's cover boy, Alfred E.
Neuman. The ink has dried up in this pen, but it still displays
beautifully. Both the pen and box appear to be unused, and both are
in Mint condition. Lot #7 - MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman Rubber Coasters MB $10 This is a set of
four (4) rubber coasters, featuring the face of Alfred E. Neuman.
These coasters, and others in the set, were produced in 1995 by XPRES
Corporation. There were also three (3) other coaster images
produced, but this lot only has the Alfred E. Neuman for President
coasters. These coasters, along with a set of ceramic magnets,
ceramic steins, and ceramic coffee mugs, were also known as the MAD
Magazine "Family Fun" collectibles line, as these were sold
by a dealer called "Family Fun Collectibles", in the "For
Sale"section in Toy Shop magazine. Measuring approx. 4" by
4", these coasters are unused, and in Mint condition. Lot #8 - Alfred E. Neuman / It's A MAD, MAD, MAD World T-Shirt - 1992 MB $20 This is a very
cool (and hand-decorated) MAD Magazine t-shirt. Produced in 1992 by
Stanley DeSantis, this t-shirt features an image of Alfred E. Neuman
on the front, and the back of Alfred's head on the back. The front
also shows the words, "It's A MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD World".
This shirt is an Adult size extra-large (XL), and is unused and in
Mint condition. The shirt also has the original manufacturer's
sticker on the front, which tells the buyer that this shirt is indeed
hand-decorated. Lot #9 - 2000 MAD Racing Team Baseball Cap / Hat - Dale Creasy Jr. MB $15 This is a cool
piece of MAD Racing memorabilia. Produced in 2000 by NHRA Properties
for E.C. Publications, this item is a cloth baseball cap/hat from the
MAD Racing team of Dale Creasy Jr. The front of the hat shows the
words, "Vote MAD", while the back has the words, "Dale
Creasy Jr. - Don't Drink And Vote" stitched above the
adjustable plastic strap. This hat is unused, and in Mint condition.
It even has the NHRA Properties paper label still attached. Lot #10 - 1995 MADTV / MAD TV Promotional Cast Member Cap / Hat MB $15 This is a cool
piece of memorabilia from the early days of MAD TV. This item is a
promotional baseball cap / hat that was given to the cast members of
the FOX Network comedy hit, MAD TV. This hat features an embroidered
MAD TV logo on the front, and has an adjustable cloth strap and
buckle on the back. This cap is made of brushed black denim, and is
soft and smooth. There is a bit of storage dust on it, but it
appears to be unused. In Excellent display condition. Lot #11 - MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman Promotional Memo Pad MB $40 This is a cool
piece of promotional MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in the
1980's by E.C. Publications, this item is a MAD Magazine / Alfred E.
Neuman memo pad. This item was produced as a giveaway premium at
trade shows and other media events, and it is one of two different
pads that were produced. The other pad was black on blue, and was
printed on heavier paper stock. In any event, this pad is super hard
to find, and contains at least 25 sheets. I stopped counting after
25, and there were still a few left. Measuring approx. 5" by
7", this item appears to be unused, and is in Excellent display
condition, with light storage and handling wear. Lot #12 - 1999 MAD Magazine Wristwatch - DC Direct MB $20 This is a hard to
find wristwatch from MAD Magazine. Produced in 1999 for E.C.
Publications by DC Direct, this item is an Alfred E. Neuman
wristwatch. This watch features a full color Alfred E. Neuman image
on the face of the watch, and this particular watch is unused and in
Mint condition. You'll be happy to know that this watch is still
factory sealed, and is the "Official Watch of the U.S.
Equestrian Boating Team!" Lot #13 - Finland / Finnish MAD Magazine #1 - First, Premiere Issue - 1970 MB $75 This is a very
cool (and very rare) foreign MAD Magazine first issue. Published in
1970 by Kustantaja Kuvajulkaisut Oy, this is the first, premiere, #1
issue from the Finnish version of MAD Magazine. This issue mainly
contains reprints from the US version, but there is also some
original content from Finnish artists and writers. This issue is in
VG condition, with surface, corner and edge wear, with noted wear and
light chipping along the spine. This one's a real toughie, so don't
miss out! Lot #14 - Anoka (Minnesota) Jackson Junior High School Yearbook w/ Alfred E. Neuman MB $40 Published in 1973
by the American Yearbook Company, this is the annual yearbook for the
Jackson Junior High School, located in Anoka, Minnesota. Nicknamed,
the Jaguars, the school chose Alfred E. Neuman to be its cover boy
for their annual 1972-3 yearbook. I am unsure of the artist, but it
obviously appears that he/she is of middle school age. Alfred also
appears on other pages of the yearbook, and each image is very
similar to the cover image. There are also several autographs and
messages contained on the pages of the book, including the front
cover. There is no "used with permission of MAD Magazine",
or any reference to MAD anywhere is the book. But the name, "Alfred
E. Jaguar", was used on the first page (pictured).
Lot #15 - 1988 Spy vs. Spy T-Shirt - Sun Sportswear MB $20 This is a cool
MAD Magazine t-shirt. Produced in 1988 by Sun Sportswear, this is a
MAD Magazine / Spy vs. Spy t-shirt. The art on the shirt features
the Black Spy eating a plate of spaghetti noodles, which are really a
pile of electrical cords. This shirt is an Adult size Large, and
this particular shirt is unused, and in Near Mint condition, with
ultra-light handling and storage wear. Lot #16 - Canadian Alfred E. Neuman T-Shirt - Watson Brothers - 1988 MB $20 This is a very
cool piece of foreign MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in 1988 for
Watson Brothers, a chain of Canadian clothing stores, this is an
Alfred E. Neuman t-shirt. The art on this shirt is not familiar, and
was probably designed by someone with no connection to MAD Magazine.
In any event, this shirt is very cool and very hard to find. It is
an Adult size Large, and is unworn and in Near Mint condition, with
ultra-light handling and storage wear. Lot #17 - Certified MAD Denim Bucket Hat - Spencer Gifts - 1999 MB $20 Produced in 1999
by Prime Time Headgear, this is a MAD Magazine / Certified MAD denim
bucket hat. This item was sold exclusively in Spencer Gifts stores
in 1999 and the early 2000's, and is unworn. In fact, it still has
the Spencer Gifts price tag still attached to the hat. The tag on
this 100% cotton hat says that it is. "One Size Fits All",
but it is a little too small for a large-headed man like myself. In
any case, this item is unused, and in Near Mint condition, with light
storage handling and storage wear. Lot #18 - MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman / What, Me Worry Baseball Cap / Hat MB $15 This is a cool
MAD Magazine baseball cap. Produced in 1997 for E.C. Publications,
this hat features the embroidered face of Alfred E. Neuman on the
front, along with the MAD Magazine logo and the words, "What, Me
Worry?" on the back. The back also features a black adjustable
vinyl strap. This item was produced as a subscription premium back
in the late 1990's, and was never sold in stores. It is a little
dusty, but is unused, and in Mint condition. Lot #19 - Sealed Package Of Alfred E. Neuman Bookmarks - American Library Association MB $15 This is a rare
piece of MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in 2002 by the American
Library Association, this is a sealed package of 250 Alfred E. Neuman
bookmarks. The art on these bookmarks comes from MAD Magazine #101,
and features Alfred E. Neuman sitting at his school desk. The
American Library Association produced several kinds of bookmarks and
posters, with some featuring cartoon and comic characters, and others
featuring nature photos and real people. These bookmarks measure
approx. 2" by 6". A companion Alfred E. Neuman poster
featuring this exact image was also produced, and is featured in its
own lot on Day Two of this weekend auction. Lot #20 - MAD Magazine Diecast Toy Car Prototype Single Car Package MB $10 This is a cool
piece of MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in 2000 by Racing
Champions, this item is a 1/48 scale (Hot Wheels size) toy car. This
is the "Spy vs. Spy" version, and there were five (5)
different cars produced in the set. All five cars ended up being
sold together in one set, in a graphic display box. This item is
rare as it displays just one car for sale. None of the cars were
ever sold individually. This item is unopened, and in Excellent
display condition. There is a little bit of surface dirt on the
front of the card, and a few spots on the back. But all of the edges
and corners of the display card are all nice and straight, and the
plastic has no issue at all. Lot #21 - Stereo For Hillbillies Reel-To-Reel Tape w/ Alfred E. Newman On Cover MB $50 This item is a
reel-to-reel tape featuring music from Warren Baker's Little Band.

1960's folk country music hits like, Clarinet Polka, Bury Me Not On
The Lone Prairie, Little Brown Jug, Arkansas Traveler, Yellow Rose Of
Texas, and many more. The lid of the box features an image of Alfred
E. Neuman, which was taken from an early 1960's issue of MAD
Magazine. Both the tape and box are in Excellent display condition. Lot #22 - Alfred E. Neuman / Ohio State T-Shirt MB $20 This is a cool
Alfred E. Neuman t-shirt. Produced in 1994 by Trau & Loevner,
this shirt features Alfred E. Neuman, with the hair on his head
sharpened by a pencil sharpener. This shirt is the "Ohio State"
version, as this design was featured on other shirts with the names
of colleges and universities on them. I have seen several of these
shirts, from Wisconsin and Penn State, to Florida and Illinois.
Another "college" shirt, featuring Alfred E. Neuman with
the sides of his head shaved, was also produced by Trau &
Loevner. This particular shirt is unused, and in Mint condition. It
even has the K-Mart price tag still attached to the neck label. This
shirt is an Adult size Large. Lot #22 - MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman / What-Me Worry T-Shirt UBI 1994 MB $20 Here's another
cool Alfred E. Neuman shirt. Produced in 1994 by UBI, this is an
Alfred E. Neuman / What - Me Worry t-shirt. This shirt features the
words, "What....Me Worry" on the front in large block
letters, while the back shirt features a blurred, 3-D image of Alfred
E. Neuman. This shirt is an Adult size XL, and is unused and in
Near Mint condition, with ultra-light handling wear. Lot #23 - "I Will Never Read MAD In Class Again" T-Shirt - 1988 - Sun Sportswear MB $20 Here's yet
another MAD Magazine t-shirt. Produced in 1988 by Sun Sportswear,
this shirt features the cover of MAD Magazine #128 on the front.
This shirt is one of the smallest MAD Magazine t-shirts I have ever
seen, as it is a child's size Medium. But, it is also unused, and
in Near Mint condition, with ultra-light handling and storage wear. Lot #24 - Tank Girl #2 Comic Book w/ Alfred E. Neuman On The Cover MAD Logo Homage MB $5 Published in 2016
by Titan Comics, this is issue #2 of Tank Girl. The comic character,
Tank Girl, originally was published in Great Britain back in 1988. A
full length feature movie, featuring actress Lori Petty as Tank Girl,
was released in 1995. This particular issue of Tank Girl, however,
features Alfred E. Neuman as Tank Girl on the front cover, and the
Tank Girl logo also uses the MAD Magazine logo script. And, the
first story published in this book is an homage to the popular,
"43-Man Squamish" article, which was published in MAD
Magazine #95. This issue is unused, and in Mint condition. Lot #25 - SyQuest Technology Plastic Bag w/ Alfred E. Neuman - 1994 MB $5 This is a cool
piece of MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in 1994 by SyQuest
Technologies, this is a plastic shopping bag with the face of Alfred
E. Neuman on each side. SyQuest received permission to use the face
of Alfred in their advertising, and two other companion pieces were
made: an oversize postcard, and a wall poster. The wall poster is
also offered for sale this weekend, and is included in Session Two.
This bag is unused, and is in folded Near Mint condition, with some
light wear along the creases. The bag is quite large, and measures
approx 18 1/2" by 21 3/4". Lot #26 - British MAD Magazine #1 - First, Premiere Issue - 1959 MB $40 This is a very
cool piece of foreign MAD Magazine memorabilia. Published in 1959 by
Strato Publications LTD., this is the first, premiere, #1 issue of

Magazine was the first of all of the foreign editions of MAD, and
also has the most issues published of any foreign edition, with 381.
This particular issue is in VG/F condition, with light surface,
corner, and edge wear. There is a little extra wear along the spine,
and there is also a 1/4" cover split at the top of the spine.
This issue is in Excellent display condition. Lot #27 - South African MAD Magazine #382 w/ Post Sept. 11 Cover - RARE MB $80 This is one of
the rarest MAD Magazines, domestic or foreign, in existence.
Published in 2001 by S.A. Magazine Co. (Pty) LTD., this is issue #382
of the South African version of MAD Magazine. What makes this issue
special (and very rare) is that it was released with the
controversial cover (illustrated by John Caldwell) of Alfred E.
Neuman crossing / breaking a "crime scene" tape, instead of
a finish line tape. This cover was scheduled to be for MAD #411, but
in the wake immediately following the September 11 terrorist attacks,
it was thought that this cover was in bad taste. The South African
MAD was the only country that published this cover, and to find this
issue is equivalent to finding a vein of gold. Although this issue
is not in Mint condition, it is in G/VG condition, with surface,
corner and edge wear. There is a 1/4" cover split at the top of
the spine, and a small piece missing from the cover at the bottom of
the spine. Despite the small amount of cover damage, this issue
still displays quite nicely. Don't miss out! Lot #29 - MAD Magazine Subscription Cards - Lot #1 MB $20 This is a cool
collection of MAD Magazine subscription cards. Produced in the
1960's, 1970's and 1980's by E.C. Publications, these cards were sent
out to subscribers to MAD Magazine whose subscriptions were about to
run out, whose subscription wasn't filled, or to people who just
ordered MAD for the first time. Three (3) of these cards are unused,
and in Near Mint condition, while the other card shows a pen mark and
a moisture stain on the front. Two (2) of the cards also have a
pre-paid postage stamp on the back.
Lot #30 - Norway / Norwegian MAD Magazine Music Cassette Tape MB $80 This is a very
cool piece of foreign MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in 1984 by
Semic / Nordisk Forlag / AS, this is a cassette tape of Norwegian
"dancing" songs. This tape contains such classics like,
MAD-Dance, Brain Calypso, Ingen Mobber Meg, Hei Du!, Kraesj Bang,
Stemme Hoyre, and Kontaktannonsens, among other favorites. This
tape features cover artwork by Don Martin, and this tape is
incredibly rare, even in Norway. There is some writing on the cover
of the paper sleeve, and also on the back of the sleeve (you need to
unfold it in order to see it). This item is in Excellent display
condition, and the minimum bid reflects the scarcity of this item. Lot #31 - MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman / MADMAG.COM Promotional T-Shirt MB $20 This is a super
rare MAD Magazine t-shirt. Produced in the 2000's by E.C.
Publications, this item is a promotional t-shirt released in
conjunction with the introduction of the MADMAG.com website. This
shirt features the MAD logo (with the face of Alfred E. Neuman) on
the left breast, while the back of the shirt shows the face of Alfred
E. Neuman surrounded by red circles (like a target). This shirt is
unused, and is in Near Mint condition, with a few teeny-tiny moisture
stains in different areas of the shirt. It is an Adult size Medium.
Lot #32 - MAD Magazine / Up The Academy Promotional T-Shirt 1980 MB $50 This is a very
rare piece of MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in 1980 by Warner
Brothers Inc., this is a promotional t-shirt for the 1980 box office
flop, Up The Academy. Many pieces of memorabilia were produced for
this movie, as this item is one of the rarest pieces released. It
features Alfred E. Neuman in full military regalia on the front
(along with two pigeons on his helmet), and the "Up The Academy"
logo on the back. This shirt appears to be unused, and is in Near
Mint condition, with ultra-light storage and handling wear. It is an
Adult size Medium. Lot #33 - Swedish MAD Magazine - Original Cover Art Painting - 1964 #6 MB $750 This is a super
rare piece of foreign MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in 1964 for
the Swedish version of MAD Magazine, this is the original cover art
painting for issue #6 from 1964 of the Swedish MAD. This art shows
Alfred E. Neuman making the letter "M" with his fingers,
while other members of the Swedish parliament cast their vote. Some
of the politicians illustrated on this cover include Tage Erlander,
Gunnar Hedlund, and Bertil Ohlin, to name a few. The artist for this
piece is the famous 1960's Swedish MAD Magazine cover artist and
interior page illustrator, BOWEN. Over time, the cover art that
BOWEN did for the Swedish MAD became so popular in Europe that
several foreign MAD Magazine publishers borrowed it for their own
issues. This particular piece measures approx. 12 3/4" by 14
1/2", and is in Excellent display condition. It is watercolor
and oil on art board. A copy of the 1964 #6 issue will also be

approx. 3 1/8" in diameter, and stands approx. 5 1/8" tall. Lot #35 - Alfred E. Neuman / FLIP Skateboards Hooded Sweatshirt - 1995 MB $30 This is a cool
Alfred E. Neuman sweatshirt. Produced in 1995 by the Flip Skateboard
Company, this item is a sweatshirt that was released in support of
FLIP's "MAD Mini" skateboard. This sweatshirt features
Alfred E. Neuman on the front, and is reminiscent of the cover of the
1960's MAD paperback book, Like MAD. In fact, it borrows the wording
of the title of that book, and the words, "Lie, FLIP" are
printed above Alfred's head. This sweatshirt is an Adult size
extra-large (XL), and is unused and in Mint condition. Lot #36 - Early 1990's MAD Magazine Office Tote Bag - Black Version MB $20 This is a cool
MAD Magazine office premium. Produced in the early 1990's for E.C.
Publications, this is a MAD Magazine logo tote bag. There were two
different styles of tote bag produced, along with two different
colors. The blue version of this tote bag is also available for
bidding on this weekend, but it is being offered in Session Two.

when opened. Lot #37 - Complete Set Of Five (5) Australian MAD Magazine Toys MB $100 This is a very
rare collection of foreign MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in

set of toys from the Australian version of MAD Magazine. These toys
were sold on the shelves of novelty stores across Australia, and were
even mentioned and promoted in the pages of the Australian MAD. The
five (5) toys included in this set are a whoopee cushion, a squirt
hand-held game, a squirt calculator, a bandaged finger, and a pair of
plastic ears. These toys have never been opened, and are in presumed
Mint condition. The display cards show just a tiny bit of storage
and handling wear, and each toy is in Excellent display condition. Lot #38 - Complete Set Of Three (3) Pairs of Canadian MAD Magazine Boxer Shorts MB $30 This is a cool
collection of MAD Magazine clothing. Produced in Canada in 1994,
this is a set of three (3) different pairs of MAD Magazine boxer
shorts. Each pair of shorts features Alfred E. Neuman and his impish
grin, and one of the pairs also includes the MAD Magazine logo.
These shorts were sold exclusively in Canadian K-Mart stores, but
only in selected cities. Each is an Adult size Medium, and they are
all unused and in Mint condition. The K-Mart price tag is still
attached to each pair as well. Lot #39 - MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman Wristwatch - Warner Bros. Store - 1993 MB $40 This is a cool
Alfred E. Neuman wristwatch. Produced in 1993 by E.C. Publications,
this watch was sold exclusively at the Warner Brothers Studio Stores
from 1993 to 1996. The face of the watch features a cross-eyed
Alfred E. Neuman, and the storage box has color graphics on the led

scarce foreign MAD Magazine paperback book. Published in (???) by
(???), this is a collection of reprints of selected panels from Dave
Berg's "The Lighter Side Of......" feature from MAD
Magazine. Even though the cover is from the MAD Magazine paperback
book, Dave Berg Looks At Our Sick World, there are no contents from
that book whatsoever. The number "7" is printed on the
spine, but I'm not sure if that means that this book is seventh in a
series of Taiwanese MAD paperback books , or just number 7 in a
series of American humor book reprints. In any case, this book is
extremely difficult to find, and is very rare. It is complete, and
in Excellent display condition, with a light corner crease on the
front cover (technically the back cover if you are of Asian descent). Lot #41 - MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman Beach Towel - Uncle Sam - Who Needs You MB $100 This is one of
the rarest pieces of the "New Collectibles" category of MAD
Magazine memorabilia. Produced in 1989 by A La Carte / Saydah, this
is a MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman beach towel. It features Alfred
E. Neuman as Uncle Sam, with his famous slogan, "Who Needs You".
It measures approx. 30" by 60", and it appears to be
unused, and in Near Mint condition. The colors are still nice and
bright, and there is no fading at all. It is beautiful! Lot #42 - MAD Comic Book #1 Cover Concept Print - Signed & Numbered 123/750 MB $75 This is a cool

Rainbow, this item is a lithograph of the original rough cover
painting to MAD Comic #1. The original rough was painted by Harvey
Kurtzman, and Mr. Kurtzman signed his name in black Sharpie near the
bottom right hand corner of the print. It has also been numbered,
and is number 123/750. Measuring approx. 10 1/2" by 10 1/2",
this item is in Near Mint condition, with ultra-light storage and
handling wear. This item also comes with a Certificate of
Authenticity booklet, which contains biographies of all of the
popular MAD artists and writers.
Lot #43 - Muffler Men T-Shirt w/ Alfred E. Neuman (Half-Wit) - Roadside America MB $20 This is a cool
piece of Alfred E. Neuman memorabilia. Produced in the 2000's by
Roadside America, this is a t-shirt that features the iconic "Muffler
Men" statues that graced the roadsides of the USA from the
1950's through today. The body of the statue was mainly the same for
each, but the heads could be interchanged. The "Half-Wit"
head bears a striking resemblance to Alfred E. Neuman, and was more
than likely modeled after a pre-MAD image of him. This t-shirt is an
Adult size extra-large (XL, and is unused and in wrinkled Mint
condition. Lot #44 - Osama Bin Laden / What - Me Worry T-Shirt w/ Alfred E. Neuman MB $20 This t-shirt
features the 9/11 mastermind, Osama Bin Laden, wearing a t-shirt with
the face of Alfred E. Neuman on it. The face of Alfred has obviously
been photoshopped onto the real photo of Bin Laden, then the entire
new picture has been printed onto a t-shirt. The phrase, "What
- Me Worry?" has also been printed beneath the photo, and the
Arabic version of the phrase has been printed above it. This shirt
is an Adult size extra-large (XL), and appears to be unused and in
Near Mint condition. Lot #45 - Sealed Wheaties Box w/ Alfred E. Neuman MB $10 Here's a cool
piece of unlicensed MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in the
1990's, this is an actual 8 oz. empty Wheaties box. The creator of
this item then printed the face of Alfred E. Neuman on the front
(from one of the Alfred E. Neuman prints from the MAD Magazine
offices). This item measures approx. 6 3/4" by 9 1/2" by
2", and is still factory sealed. It is in Excellent display
condition. I recall purchasing one of these back in the mid-1990's.
It is a very cool "fantasy" Alfred E. Neuman collectible. Lot #46 - Alfred E. Neuman Yo-Yo MB $10 Here's yet
another piece of "fantasy" Alfred E. Neuman memorabilia.
Produced in the 1990's, this item is an Alfred E. Neuman yo-yo.
Featuring Alfred E. Neuman in his classic pose on each side, this
item is a very well done item from the "Make Your Own
Collectibles" era of the late 1990s. It measures approx. 2 1/4"
in circumference, and is about 1" thick. It is made of hard
plastic, and appears to have never been played with. It is in
Excellent display condition. Lot #47 - French / France MAD Magazine #1 First, Premiere Issue 1965 MB $50 Here is a hard to
find foreign MAD Magazine first issue. Published in 1965 by Editions
Francelia, this is the first, premiere, #1 issue from the French
version of MAD Magazine. This issue contains reprints from past
issues of MAD Magazine, and this issue is in VG condition, with
surface, corner and edge wear. It is soild and complete, and in
Excellent display condition. Lot #48 - Spanish / Spain MAD Magazine #1 First, Premiere Issue LOCURAS 1975 MB $40 Here is yet
another hard to find foreign MAD Magazine first issue. Published in
1975 by Euredit, this is the first, premiere, #1 issue of the Spanish
version of MAD Magazine. The title, "Locuras", is the
literal Spanish translation of the word, "MAD", and all six
issues from this edition had "Locuras" at the title. This
is actually the first issue from the SECOND edition of the Spanish
MAD. The first edition, from 1974, also lasted only six issues. The
title of those issues was just "MAD", so perhaps the
editors thought that readership levels would be higher if they
translated the name. In any case, this issue is in VG/F condition,
with light surface, corner and edge wear. Lot #49 - Thailand MAD Magazine #1 Cracked Magazine On Cover RARE MB $40 This is an
extremely rare foreign MAD Magazine first issue. Published in (???)
by (???), this item contains the first appearance of MAD Magazine
printed material in the country of Thailand. This issue is known as
a "bootleg" issue, as it was not licensed by MAD to be
published. This issue also contains articles from Cracked Magazine
(including the front cover), and could also be considered the first
Cracked foreign #1 issue. This issue is in Excellent display
condition, with just a hint of surface, edge and corner wear.
Lot #50 - Completely MAD Trade Paperback - Uncorrected Advance Proof - 1991 MB $30 This is a cool
piece of MAD Magazine memorabilia. Published in 1991 by Little,
Brown & Co., this is an "uncorrected advance proof" of
the book, Completely MAD. Completely MAD takes a super detailed
look into the creation of MAD Magazine, and is a thoroughly
entertaining read. This uncorrected proof is basically a bound
collection of photocopies of the pages of the book, with margin notes
and post-it stickers placed on top of photographs to mark their place
in the book. It is rather cool, actually. It's even better when you
compare the proof to the actual published book, just to see if there
were any changes made before publication. This proof has been read
just a few times, and is in Excellent display condition. Lot #51 - The Complete MAD Checklist #3 - Double Issue - Fred von Bernewitz MB $30 This is a hard to
find collection of MAD Magazine memorabilia. Published in 1971 by
Fred von Bernewitz, this is a set of two (2) volumes of the MAD
Checklist #3. The MAD Checklists were the brainchild of MAD & EC
Comic fanatic, Mr. Fred von Bernewitz, and the purpose of each MAD
Checklist was to break down each issue of MAD article by article, as
they appeared in the magazine. The artist and writer for each
article is listed, and on what page they would be found. An online
version of this idea can be found at MADCOVERSITE.COM. These two
volumes appear to be unused, and are in Near Mint condition. Lot #52 - Signed 1997 DC Comics Corporate Christmas Card w/ Al Jaffee Fold-In MB $5 This is a cool
piece of MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in 1997 by DC Comics,
this is the 1997 DC Comics corporate Christmas card. Normally, the
card is your standard greeting card, with a picture on the front, and
a pleasant greeting on the inside. This version, however, is a
foldable version, and the art was drawn by the MAD Magazine Fold-In
master, Mr. Al Jaffee. The card features a contingent of DC Comic
Superheroes, clad only in their underwear. The gag is that someone
is destined for a costume makeover. By doing the Fold-In, you will
find that the answer is.................well, you will have to buy
this card to find out. This card has been signed on the back by
eight (8) DC Comics staffers (none of whose signatures I recognize).
The card is unfolded, and is in Near Mint condition, with ultra-light
storage and handling wear. Lot #53 - 1991 Sigma Chi Fraternity "Derby Week" T-Shirt w/ Alfred E. Neuman MB $50 This is a very
cool Alfred E. Neuman item. Produced in 1991 for the Sigma Chi
fraternity at the University of Mississippi, this is the
commemorative t-shirt for their annual "Derby Week", held
April 8 - 13, 1991. This shirt is very rare, as only 200 or so were
made. This shirt features the fraternity logo on the front left
breast, while the back shows Alfred E. Neuman carrying a "Derby
Day" pennant in one hand, and a mug of beer in the other. This
shirt is an Adult size extra-large (XL), and it has been used and
worn. There are a few small spots and stains on a few areas of the
shirt, but most importantly, the image of Alfred is about as clean as
you can get. Super rare! Lot #54 - German MAD Magazine - Original "Na Und....?" T-Shirt 1980's MB $50 This is a rare
piece of foreign MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in the 1980's
for Williams Verlag GmbH, this is a German MAD Magazine / Alfred E.
Neuman "Na Und.....?" t-shirt. These shirts were sold in
stores, and also advertised on the pages of the German MAD. They are
rather difficult to find, as not many were sold. This particular
shirt has never been worn, and is in Mint condition, with ultra-light
storage wear. In fact, this shirt was still sealed in its original
plastic wrapper when I received it, and I had to cut open the bag to
photograph it. It is beautiful! Lot #55 - Sing Along With MAD - Untrimmed, Unbound Cover - RARE 1961 MB $15 Produced in 1961
by E.C. Publications, this item is an unbound and untrimmed cover for
the Sing Along With MAD lyric booklet, which was the free bonus
premium in the More Trash From MAD #4 annual. This item does not
have the interior pages included. It is only the unbound and
untrimmed cover. Measuring approx. 10 3/4" by 15 3/8",
this item is unused, and in Near Mint condition, with a light pencil
notation in the upper right hand corner of the front cover. Lot #56 - South African MAD Magazine Board Game 1990's MB $10 This is a cool
piece of foreign MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in the 1990's by
Hasbro - South Africa, this is the South African version of the
popular MAD Magazine board game. Back in 1979, Parker Brothers
released the MAD Magazine board game to rave reviews. In fact, it
quickly became the second best-selling game for Parker Brothers,
behind Monopoly. In any case, this is the 1990's South African
version, and little has changed. You probably wouldn't even notice
anything different about this game, except for the "Hasbro -
South Africa" logo on the side of the box lid. This game has
been played with just once or twice, and is complete and in Excellent
display condition. There is a little price sticker residue on the
side of the box lid. But, that's about it. Lot #57 - MAD Magazine - Alfred E. Neuman 45 RPM Record w/ Don Martin Picture Sleeve MB $40 This one of MAD
Magazine's first "Holy Grails". Produced in 1959 by
ABC-Paramount, this is a 45 rpm record, featuring the song "What
- Me Worry, by Alfred E. Neuman. The "B" side is a tune
affectionately known as, "Potrzebie. But, the best part of this
lot is the color picture sleeve. It features the back of Alfred E.
Neuman's head, and some of Don Martin's earliest work for MAD
Magazine. The art on both sides of the sleeve is identical. While
not in Mint condition, the sleeve is complete, and in full color.
The record appears to have been played just a few times. Lot #58 - MAD Nosey Shades - Complete Set Of Four (4) - 1989 - Imagineering MB $600 Well......, here they are! Arguably the rarest of all of the "New Collectibles" from the 1980's, this is a complete set of four (4) MAD Nosey Shades. Produced in 1989 by Imagineering, the "Nosey Shades" are actually a pair of sunglasses, with a nose attachment. The glasses are identical to each other, but the noses are different. These particular sunglasses are still factory sealed, so I can't tell you how they fit. As this is the first time that I have ever seen these, I have zero experience in telling you what they are like. In any event, the display card for each one is in Excellent display condition, with light handling and storage wear. I have only seen one of these for sale, and that was on eBay about 4 years ago. They were won by some famous, Grammy-winning guitarist who lives in California, who also is a best-selling author, and is an expert in the field of EC Comics and MAD Magazine. But, I can't quite remember his name. Darn it. YOU NEED THESE IN
YOUR COLLECTION! THEY WILL BE THE CROWN JEWEL IN ANY MAD
COLLECTION! Lot #59 - Spy vs. Spy / Network Computing Promotional Poster 1991 MB $40 Here is a very
obscure Spy vs. Spy poster. Produced in 1991 by CMP Publications,
this is a promotional poster for Network Computing magazine. This
poster features the Black and White Spies from the popular MAD
Magazine feature, Spy vs. Spy. This poster is also unique for
another reason, as the artist for this poster is George Woodbridge.
I have never heard of Mr. Woodbridge doing any "Spy" art
for MAD, so this poster is new to me. But, it is very, very cool.
This poster is in Excellent display condition, and measures approx.
20" by 30". Lot #60 - Alfred E. Neuman Latex Head Mask - 1981 - Cesar MB $15 This is a cool
Alfred E. Neuman mask. Produced in 1981 by Cesar, this mask was
sold in gift shops and novelty stores through the mid-to-late 1980's
This particular example appears to have never been worn, as the
manufacturers tag is still attached to the mask. There is no size
listed, although I assume that it will fit the head of any Adult.
This mask is in Excellent display condition. Lot #61 - MAD Magazine $2 Scratch-Off Lottery Ticket - Delaware Lottery MB $5 This is a super
rare piece of MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in 2007 by the
Delaware Lottery, this is an authentic ticket from the Delaware
Lottery's "MAD" scratch-off game. This game featured a
top prize of $1500, and, per Lottery rules, the game ended when the
top prize was won. I discovered this ticket back in early 2008,
while doing a simple Google "Image" search for Alfred E.
Neuman. I called a few convenience stores in Delaware, and ended up
purchasing 20 tickets. They sold like hotcakes on eBay shortly
thereafter, with the last one (in unscratched, Mint condition)
selling privately for $500. This particular ticket is in Excellent
display condition, although it has been scratched. It measures
approx. 4" by 4". A store window sign was also produced
for this ticket, one of which exists in the MAD Magazine collection
of a major East Coast collector. Lot #62 - MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman - 25th Anniversary Sticker / Decal MB $10 Here's a rare MAD
Magazine sticker. Produced in 1977 by E.C. Publications, this is a
promotional sticker celebrating the 25th anniversary of MAD Magazine.
This sticker was given away at trade shows and other media-type
events, and is quite rare. This particular example is unused
(unpeeled), and is Near Mint condition, with ultra-light storage
wear. It measures approx. 4" by 4".
Lot #63 - MAD Magazine Mini Lunchbox - 1999 - Corn Nuts MB $5 Here's a newer
MAD Magazine collectible. Produced in 1999 by American Specialty
Confections Inc., this is a mini tin lunchbox. Featuring Alfred E.
Neuman and the MAD Magazine logo on each side, and the MAD logo on
the top and bottom, this item was originally sold with a package of
Corn-Nuts inside the tin. This item is still factory sealed, so it
is assumed that the package of Corn-Nuts is still inside, although
they wouldn't be fit to eat. Measuring approx. 2 1/4" by 4 3/4"
by 5 1/2", this item is still unused, and in Mint condition. Lot #64 - MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman Coffee Mug 1996 XPRES MB $10 Here's a cool

line of MAD Magazine collectibles sold in the pages of Toy Shop
magazine by a seller called, "Family Fun Collectibles".
Other items from this seller include a set of four (4) foam coasters,
a set of four (4) ceramic magnets, and two (2) different ceramic
steins. In any case, this mug is unused, and in Mint condition,
with just a hint of light storage wear. Lot #65 - Swedish MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman Fan Club Membership Card 1960's MB $20 This is a very
rare piece of foreign MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in the late
1960's by the Swedish version of MAD Magazine, this is a heavy stock
paper membership card from the Swedish Alfred E. Neuman Fan Club.
The Swedish Alfred E. Neuman Fan Club was the precursor to the more
popular, Alfred E. Neuman Fan Supporter Club (AENFSC), of the 1970's
and 1980's. This particular card features Alfred E. Neuman and the
MAD logo on one side, along with a b/w photo of the fan club member
(Mr. Lars Osterberg) on the other. But, the most valuable part of
this piece is the signature of Swedish MAD's founder and first
editor, Mr. Lasse O'Mansson. This item is in Excellent display
condition, and appears to have been folded and stored neatly for the
next 40 years after it was received.
Lot #66 - "Pre-MAD" Alfred E. Neuman Beatnik Postcard MB $10 Here's a cool
piece of Alfred E. Neuman memorabilia. Produced in the 1960's by
IMPKO, this is a postcard featuring an early image of Alfred E.
Neuman. While not technically a pre-MAD item, as pre-MAD items are
items that were produced before 1952, this item does use the pre-MAD
image of Alfred. In any case, this item is in beautiful display
condition, with just a hint of handling and storage wear. Lot #67 - Swedish MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman Fan Supporter Club Membership Card w/ Pin MB $20 Here's another
cool piece from the Swedish version of MAD Magazine. Produced in the

This card also comes with an Alfred E. Neuman Fan Supporter Club
pinback button still attached. Both the card and pinback button are
in Excellent display condition. Lot #68 - Pre-MAD Alfred E. Neuman Ceramic Mug - It Didn't Hurt A Bit 1910's? MB $75 Here's a cool
piece of pre-MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman memorabilia. Produced
in the 1910's(?) for the New York Dental Parlors, this item is a
ceramic mug featuring an early image of Alfred E. Neuman. This
image, along with the quote, "It Didn't Hurt A Bit", also
appeared on other pieces of pre-MAD memorabilia like, postcards,
trade cards, and calendars. For being over 100 years old, this mug
is in beautiful display condition, but it does have a few tiny cracks
and dings, some crazing, a few light scratches, and some of the gold
paint has been rubbed off of both the top and bottom trim. But, it
is very rare, with less than ten (10) known to exist.
Lot #69 - NSA Security Awareness Poster w/ Alfred E. Neuman 1991 MB $40 Here's a cool
piece of Alfred E. Neuman memorabilia. Produced in 1991 by the
National Security Agency (NSA), this is their 1991 "Security

piece from the "Usual Gang Of Idiots". This item is a
signed Christmas card, sent from MAD Magazine artist, Bob Clarke, to

their own Christmas cards, and Mr. Clarke was prolific, making over
30 different cards. This card dates from the 1980's, and has been
signed by Mr. Clarke on the inside in red marker. It is in Excellent

tape residue on the back. Lot #71 - 1907 Anitkamnia Tablet Calendar w/ Early Alfred E. Neuman Image MB $10 Here's a cool
piece of pre-MAD / Alfred E. Neuman memorabilia. Produced in 1906 by
the Anitkamnia Chemical Company, this is their annual 1907 tablet
calendar. This calendar is titled "The Convalescent", and
features two ladies and two children on the front. But, the back of
the calendar features an early image of MAD Magazine's Alfred E.
Neuman. In fact, this same image of Alfred E. Neuman would be used
the next year by Antikamnia, for the front of their 1908 tablet
calendar. This calendar measures approx. 7 3/4" by 10",
and displays beautifully. There is a pin hole at the top, and there
is some noticeable edge wear. There is also a light corner bend.

earliest MAD Magazine collectibles. Produced in 1960 by Collegeville
Costumes, this is an Alfred E. Neuman Halloween costume. Originally,
this costume came in a generic Collegeville Costume box, along with a
pair of generic orange/red pants. Those two items are missing. This
lot contains just the shirt (an Adult size, probably Medium), and the
mask. The mask has been crushed, and has several cracks along the
chin and hair. One of the cracks in the hair leads all the way to
Alfred's left eye. The shirt is in remarkably good condition, with
fold marks and some chipping on the trim on the left wrist. While
not complete, the most important parts of the costume are present.
The opening bid is a bargain price for this item. Lot #74 - Norwegian MAD Magazine Binder - Sealed w/ Norsk MAD 1990/1 Issue MB $10 Here's a cool
piece of foreign MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in 1990 by Semic

the Norwegian MAD. The binder is somewhat difficult to find, as

are also embroidered on the left front breast. This shirt measures
an Adult size Large, but it fits like an Adult XXL. This shirt

The four (4) signs are also uncut from their display. This kit is

I just can't make out. This item is truly one-of-a-kind, as I have
never seen another. And, it is quite rare, as some of these
signatures are very tough to get. The picture itself shows
significant wear at the top edge, and there is some paper loss at the

unused and in Mint condition. A companion sweatshirt of this same
design is also being sold in Session One in this weekend's auction. Lot #136 - Don Martin Signed Character Sketch "To Ed Norris - Don Martin......." 1990's MB $150 Here's a cool
sketch from MAD Magazine's MADdest artist. This sketch, drawn by
MAD Magazine's MADdest artist, Don Martin, shows a gentleman doffing
his hat to a lady. It turns out that he was wearing a graduation
mortarboard, and his head is shaped exactly like his hat. This item
has been enscribed, "To Ed Norris - Don Martin....", and
this piece comes directly from the collection of Mr. Norris.
Measuring approx.8 1/2" by 11", this item is in Excellent
display condition, and would look beautiful framed. Lot #137 - MAD Magazine / Spy vs. Spy Paperback Book Cover Proof 1983 MB $10 Here's a rare
piece of Spy vs. Spy memorabilia. Produced in 1983 by Warner Books,
this is a cover proof for the 1983 Spy vs. Spy paperback book, The
Fifth MAD Report On Spy vs. Spy. This proof was made to check the
color and printing clarity, and was supposed to be destroyed after
the release of the book. But, a sticky-fingered elf kept it, and now
here it is. It measures approx. 7" by 8 1/4", and is in
Excellent display condition. It does show a single hole punch below
the "D" in the MAD logo, however. Lot #138 - Set Of Two (2)Color Sales Flyers MAD Magazine Watches Concepts Plus MB $10 Here are some
cool MAD Magazine advertising flyers. Produced in 1987 for E.C.
Publications by Concepts Plus, this is a set of two(2) different
color sales flyers for a collection of MAD Magazine timepieces. The
first is for a MAD Magazine wall clock (in the shape of a watch), and
a MAD Magazine alarm clock. Neither item was produced for sale,
however a few samples were made of the MAD Wall Clock, and were given
to a few members of the MAD staff. The second flyer is for the MAD
watches, which were released nationwide. In addition to the red and
white bands pictured, this watch was also made with a black band and
a light blue band. These flyers are very cool. and I would guess
there are very few around, if any. Both are in Excellent display
condition. Lot #139 - MAD Magazine Card Game Store Display Header Sign Parker Brothers 1980 MB $125 Here's a super
rare piece of MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in 1980 by Parker
Brothers, this is a store display header sign for the MAD Magazine
card game. The MAD Magazine card game was the companion to the MAD
Magazine board game, but the card game did not reach the successful
status as it's cousin. This header sign features artwork by the late
MAD Magazine artist, Mr. Jack Davis, and is the first (and only) one
of these I have ever seen. And, I've seen a lot. That being said,
I would estimate there are fewer than five (5) of these left in
existence, and an argument could be made for this item being the only
one left in existence. This item measures approx. 14" by 19
1/2", and is in Excellent display condition. It has also been
folded vertically down the center.
Lot
#140 - German MAD Magazine #115 w/ Bonus Toy & Other
German MAD Toys MB $20
Here's a very
rare collection of German MAD Magazine memorabilia. This lot
includes issue #115 from the German version of MAD Magazine. What
makes this issue special is that is comes with a bonus "toy"
that was shrink-wrapped with the magazine. The "toy" is
called Rotz-Schleim, and it appears to be a container of fake snot.
This lot also contains other German MAD bonus "toys", and
those include a Schocker Ohr (Bloody Ear), a container of
"Furz-Spray" (fart spray), and 3 vials of "Stinkbomben"
(stink bombs). The issues of German MAD that belong to those bonus
toys are #'s 88, 103 and 107, but those are not included in this
auction. These toys are unopened, and are in Near Mint condition,
with light storage wear. The issue of German MAD #115 is in F/VF
condition. Lot #141 - MAD Magazine / Up The Academy Promotional Banner / Flag Set MB $75 Here's a cool
piece of memorabilia from the box office flop, Up The Academy.
Produced in 1980 by Warner Brothers, this item is a string of coated
paper flags, featuring characters from the MAD Magazine-inspired
film. This string of flags is at least sixteen (16) feet long, as
there is several feet of string that is rolled up on one end. I
didn't want to undo it. There are six (6) different flags attached
to the string, and there are three (3) with Alfred E. Neuman as the
Soldier, one of actress Barbara Bach, one with a listing of the
different artists on the movie soundtrack, and one of a dog. Each
flag measures approx. 12" wide by 16" long, and the flags
are in Excellent display condition. They might have a couple of
curled up points, but that's about it. This is one of the rarest
pieces of memorabilia from the movie, so don't miss out on this
treasure! Lot #142 - MAD Magazine Board Game FACTORY SEALED 1979 Parker Brothers MB $75 Here's a rare
piece of MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in 1979 by Parker
Brothers, this is the MAD Magazine board game. The MAD Magazine
board game was at one time the second-best selling game ever for
Parker Brothers (behind Monopoly), and for a few short weeks, even
outsold Monopoly. This particular game, however, is still factory
sealed. I assume that the contents are all complete and in Mint
condition, but you never know after almost 40 years of being in a
box. This game displays beautifully, but there are a few small tears
in the cellophane in a couple of areas. You will be hard pressed to
find another gem like this one! Lot #143 - MAD Magazine Trade Paperback Book Store Display Poster MAD Cover To Cover MB $15 Here's a cool MAD
Magazine poster. Produced in 2000 by Watson - Guptil Publications,
this is a store display poster for the MAD Magazine book, MAD Cover
To Cover. This poster features the cool PhotoMosaic art of artist,
Robert Silvers, and this same art appears on the cover of the book.
This poster measures approx. 24" by 36", and is in
Excellent display condition, with light wear and handling marks
around the edges.
Lot #144 - Sergio Aragones / MAD Marginals Counter Top Display Stand w/ Books MB $100 Here's a super
rare piece of MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in 1975 by Warner
Books, this is a counter top display stand for the MAD Magazine /
Sergio Aragones paperback book, MAD Marginals. The bottom storage
area of this display stand is just a generic box. However, the
display sign is where the value is to this piece. The sign repeats
the title of the book, and there are a few MAD Marginals along the
side of the sign. The sign itself measures approx. 9" by 11
1/2", and is in Excellent display condition. The box is
complete, and outside of being a bit yellowed, is in Near Mint
condition. This lot also comes with two (2) of the MAD Marginals
digest-sized books. Both of those are in Near Mint condition. When
was the last time you saw this item? Probably never before. When
is the next time you will see another one of these for sale?
Probably never again. This just might be the last one of these in
existence. Don't miss out on this rarity! Lot #145 - MAD Magazine Original Art - Bruce Springsteen - Gerry Gersten MB $250 Here's a cool
piece of original art from one of the Usual Gang Of Idiots.
Illustrated by the late MAD Magazine artist, Gerry Gersten, this is
a portrait of the rock music legend, Bruce Springsteen. This item
has been dated Sept. 7, 1995, and has been signed by the artist in
the lower right hand corner of the art. I am not sure which issue of
MAD Magazine this art was published in, but it is very cool
nonetheless. This piece of art measures approx. 16 1/5" by 20"
with an image size of approx. 14" by 16". This item is
beautiful, and will display nicely on your wall. Lot #146 - MAD Magazine / Spy vs. Spy T-Shirt 1992 Stanley DeSantis MB $20 Here's a cool Spy
vs. Spy t-shirt. Produced in 1992 by Stanley DeSantis, this shirt
features the cover to the Spy vs. Spy paperback book, The All New
Secret File On Spy vs. Spy, on the front. This shirt measures an
Adult size extra-large (XL), and it appears to be unworn. The silk
screened colors still smell new, and this shirt is in Excellent
display condition. Lot #147 - MAD Magazine T-Shirt - American Marketing Works - 1988 MB $50 Here is a very
cool (and very rare) MAD Magazine t-shirt. Produced in 1988 by
American Marketing Works, this is a MAD Magazine t-shirt featuring a
couple of cover reprints from the early MAD / EC comic books. This
shirt reprints the covers to MAD comic book covers 4 and 11, and also
MAD Magazine issue #238. This shirt is bright and colorful, and
still smells brand new. It is an Adult sized extra-large (XL), and
is in Excellent display condition. The opening bid reflects the
rarity of this shirt. Lot #148 - MAD Magazine Artist / Bob Clarke MAD Jacket & MAD Baseball Cap MB $200 Here's some cool
pieces of memorabilia from one of the Usual Gang Of Idiots. This
jacket and hat were owned and worn by the late MAD Magazine artist,
Mr. Bob Clarke. These items are incredibly rare, as the only people
who received them were the MAD staff and all of the MAD freelance
artists and writers. The jacket features an embroidered MAD Magazine
logo on the back, and is an Adult sized Large. The jacket is lined,
with snap button closures in the front. The jacket dates from the
1980's. The hat features an embroidered MAD patch on the front. The
hat is adjustable, and has Mr. Clarke's sweaty DNA all over it. This
lot also comes with a newspaper article / interview with Mr. Clarke.
Mr. Clarke is seen wearing this MAD hat in the newspaper photo. The
jacket does smell a little musty, and also smells of stale cigarette
smoke, as Mr. Clarke was a life-long smoker. Lot #149 - Alfred E. Neuman / Penn State T-Shirt Certified MAD MB $20 This is a cool
Alfred E. Neuman t-shirt. Produced in 1994 by Trau & Loevner,
this shirt features Alfred E. Neuman, with the sides of his head
shaved. This shirt is the "Penn State" version, as this
design was featured on other shirts with the names of colleges and
universities on them. I have seen several of these shirts, from
Wisconsin and Ohio State, to Florida and Illinois. Another "college"
shirt, featuring Alfred E. Neuman with the hair on his head sharpened
by a pencil sharpener (see Lot #22), was also produced by Trau &
Loevner. This shirt has been worn just a few times, and is in
Excellent display condition. Lot #150 - Alfred E. Neuman Life-size Rubber Mask 1990's Don Post MB $100 Here's a very
cool and one-of-a-kind Alfred E. Neuman item. Produced in the 1990's
by Don Post Studios, this is a solid latex and foam display bust of
MAD Magazine's Alfred E. Neuman. This bust was the model for the
1990's Alfred E. Neuman rubber mask that was released along with the
Black Spy and White Spy Halloween masks back in the late 1990's.
This item has been hand-painted and finished by artist, Robert Thorp,
and is in beautiful display condition. It measures approx. 11"
from ear to ear, 13"from the base to the top of the head, and
10" from the tip of the nose to the back of the head. This is
truly a one-of-a-kind piece, and would be the centerpiece of your MAD
Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman collection.
