Thanks to Doug Gilford, who not only hosts the catalog on his
fabulous website, but also takes the time to proofread my catalog
files and re-assemble them on his website. And, he asks nothing for
it. He is a true legend in the world of MAD Magazine. Thank you,
Doug!
- Lastly,
I wish to apologize for the photos that have an annoying gray spot in
them. If a gray spot appears in a photo, it's left of center and up
a little bit. That gray spot DOES NOT appear on the item. I thinks
it's a piece of schmutz inside the lens of my digital camera. Sorry.
Good
Luck, and Happy Bidding!
MADly,

#76 - Jerry Toliver / MAD Magazine Funny Car Trading Card
Action Racing Collectibles MB $5
Here's
a cool piece of MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in 1998 by Action
Racing Collectibles, this item is a trading card that features the
driver of the MAD Magazine / NHRA funny car, Mr. Jerry Toliver. Back
in 1997, MAD Magazine made their first foray into the automobile
racing industry by sponsoring driver, Jerry Toliver, who competed in
the NHRA funny car circuit. It seemed at the time (and still does,
to me) to be a strange pairing of corporate entities, and I'm
not really sure if it ever worked. After the NHRA / Jerry Toliver
years, MAD continued their race car driver sponsorship with drivers

#87 - Tim Johnson / MAD Magazine Memorabilia Auction Catalogs
Set Of Seven (7) MB $30
Here's
a cool collection of MAD Magazine memorabilia. Published in 1998,
1999, 2000, and 2001 by Tim Johnson (me), this is the complete
collection of seven (7) different auction catalogs from my late
1990's/early 2000's MAD Magazine telephone auctions.
These catalogs are all printed in black & white, and are rather
primitive compared to the color catalogs I have made over the past
eight years. But, color printing was (and still is) very expensive.
These catalogs contain some rare and hard-to-find pieces of MAD
Magazine memorabilia, with the 2001 catalog (pictured on the right)
offering a whopping 390 lots! They are all in Excellent display
condition, although the staples have been removed. The reason for
this is that these are the catalogs that were used on Doug Gilford's
MADCOVERSITE, and it was easier to get clearer pictures of each page
while the page was laid flat. Other than the missing staples, these
catalogs are complete. A few might have some writing in them, and a
few might even have the prices realized included as well.

w/ Sticker On The Bottom MB $50
Here's
a great piece of MAD Magazine memorabilia. Produced in the early

ceramic bisque bust. The Alfred E. Neuman busts were initially
offered for sale in issue #53 of MAD Magazine, and there were two (2)
differents sizes available, a 3 ¾" tall bust and a 5 ½"
tall bust. It seems to me that the smaller busts were the most
popular of the two sizes, as those are the ones that are seen more
often on online retail sites, like eBay. This particular bust is in
Excellent display condition, although there appears to be a hairline
crack below the neck. This bust is relatively clean, with a few
light stains on the face and head. The manufacturers label is still
attached to the green felt on the bottom of the bust, so that is
noteworthy as well. This is bust is the small (3 ¾")
version, and it is in Excellent display condition.

#121 - Pre-MAD Magazine / Alfred E. Neuman America And Peace
Sticker RARE MB $75
Here's
a cool early piece of Alfred E. Neuman memorabilia. Probably produced
in the 1920's by The Strobridge Litho Co., this is a sticker with an
early likeness of MAD Magazine's Alfred E. Neuman on the front. The
words, "America And Peace" are printed at the top of the
sticker, with the words, "I'm For Both!" appearing at the
bottom. This sticker is commonly known among MAD Magazine memorabilia
collectors as the "America For Peace" sticker, as that is
how it is described in the MAD collectors bible, Collectibly MAD.
However, the word "For" was mistakenly used in the
description, as this sticker clearly has the word "And"
printed at the top. In any event, this sticker measures approx. 1
3/4" by 2 1/4", and is in Excellent display condition.

#129 - Alfred E. Neuman Baby Barry Doll 100% Original
Everything RARE MB $400
Here's
a super rare piece of Alfred E. Neuman memorabilia. Produced in 1961
by the Baby Barry Doll Company, this is an original Baby Barry doll.
This doll is a direct knock-off of MAD Magazine's Alfred E.
Neuman, and is among the first unlicensed items produced after MAD
Magazine started rising in fame and popularity. This doll is
beautiful, and is 100% complete: from the pants and jacket, to the
shoes and tie. It is quite a feat to find this doll in the condition
that this doll is in, as most of the time it is missing the tie or
shoes, or has a replica tie around its neck. Or, it has completely
different clothing altogether. If there was one thing the nitpickers
would say about this doll, it would be that the tie has some areas of
fraying on a few of the edges. But I say, "Who cares? The tie
is an original!" This doll measures approx. 20" tall by
7" wide at the hands, and is the best conditioned Baby Barry
doll I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. Baby Barry dolls have
sold for $1400 and $2500 before (in the days before eBay), and this
opening bid is a steal, in my honest opinion.

all with their appropriate accesories. But the most valuable item in
this boxed set isn't any of the action figures. It is the "50
Years Of Stupidity" special edition of MAD that is included in
the back of the box. For some reason, that issue is the hardest MAD
Magazine special edition issue to find. Maybe it's because of poor
distribution. Maybe it's because nobody wants to break up their set,

#233 - Alfred E. Neuman T-Shirt Goin' Southbound Unlicensed
RARE MB $15
Here's
a cool piece of Alfred E. Neuman memorabilia. Probably produced in
the 2000's, this is an Alfred E. Neuman t-shirt. This shirt
shows Alfred wearing a cap with the letter, "A", on the

can't be sure that's what he's doing. In any event, this
is the first I have ever seen of this style of Alfred E. Neuman
t-shirt, and it is kinda cool. The words, "Goin Southbound"
are printed near Alfred's left jawline, but I have no idea what
that means. There is no tag, but it appears that this shirt is an
Adult size Large. It is in Excellent display condition.
