You know I have quite an assortment of reprints listed on my site in the form of Annuals, Specials, Paperbacks, and MAD Books. MAD never lacked in putting their stuff out there again and again and again...

When you go to one of my pages representing a particular reprint,
you'll see a list of all the article names in their order of occurrence.
You can click the article name and be transported to the original issue source for that article.

This project is the logical next step. Show where an article was reprinted over MAD's history.

It's been a series of experiments to see what presents best to users of this site.

The first experiment was to keep the issue pages essentially like they've been for years, but adding pop-up tooltips with reprint information trails as you see pictured to the right in three examples.

This was a neat effect and got the information across, but I was ultimately unhappy with the presentation. Hovering the mouse just right for desktop users was challenging on an already stuffed page of information.

The solution appears to be something I've been wanting to do for years, making the site look less cumbersome and mobile friendly, modernizing the overall look. In doing so with the examples so far that are linked below, I'm combining all the information into more convenient drop-down sections.

A bonus you'll see is the inclusion of each article's DEPT. heading,
MAD's often pun-filled commentary on the article.

I think the results are easier to read and navigate. This will take YEARS to complete, starting off with regular issues and going from there.
